Our Love Story

Beginnings

Amanda and John fell into each other’s lives the way the best stories do, through friends and a little bit of luck. Amanda’s friend (shoutout: Jen Roney!) was convinced that Amanda and her fiancé’s best friend, John, would click. A couples’ date in Bel Air in 2021 proved she was right.

Making Distance Work

When John and Amanda met, John lived in Arlington, Virginia, and Amanda in Wilmington, Delaware. This meant that creativity and planning became part of the romance. They turned weekend east-coast trips into mini-adventures: exploring cities, elegant dinners, and concerts became their rituals. During the weeks, phone calls stretched for hours after work and became the steady drumbeat of their relationship.

Home Life

In 2023, A&amp;J took the next step and moved together to Alexandria, Virginia, signing the lease on their first apartment and officially starting a life under one roof. Today, they still share that same home (with their English Bulldog, Cheeseburger) and continue to live with a rhythm that blends city energy with quiet evenings. To this day, they still chase live music and plays, celebrate special meals, and savor the small routines that make a relationship feel like home. Every ticket stub and late-night conversation is another page in the story they’re writing together.

The drive from Baltimore/Washington International (BWI) airport is about 45 mins. The drive from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) is approximately 1 hour. The drive from Dulles International Airport (IAD) is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.

HOTELS

The bride and groom will be staying at this hotel. There is no room block, and reservations will open online on April 1st. Welcome drinks and the after‑party will also take place here. Complimentary shuttle vans will run to and from the wedding venue throughout the night for all guests.
